Inspecting the Temperature Probe

Some locations may choose to do this procedure on a more frequent basis (i.e., quarterly, semi-annually, or other frequency).

To avoid electrical shock or property damage, move the power switch to OFF and disconnect power.

Inspect temperature probe, verify it is not bent or damaged. Check the insertion depth of the probe with a gauge – adjust if necessary.

  1. Remove electrical power supplied to the fryer.

  2. Drain the oil from the vat.

  3. Remove the control panel.

  4. Ensure the temperature probe fits into the compression fitting until it extends one-half (1/2) inch (1.3 cm) into the vat.

  5. Use the temperature probe gauge, to ensure proper placement in vat.

Excess force will damage the temperature probe.

  6. Replace control panel.

  7. Replace oil in vats.

  8. Turn power on and test fryer.
