Inspecting the Cam Slide Fillers
Some locations may choose to do this procedure on a more frequent basis (i.e., quarterly, semi-annually, or other frequency).
Inspect the cam slide fillers on the sides of the lid cover. If either side is damaged or missing, replace with new cam slide fillers. The part number for the cam slide fillers can be found in Lid and Cover Assembly.
Why is this important?
The cam slide fillers help minimize the amount of grease laden vapor, breading, dust and debris that can accumulate on the components under the lid cover.
Replacing Cam Slide Fillers
-
Remove the four lid cover screws. Two screws per side.
-
Remove the lid cover by lifting the handle and pulling the lid cover through the handle.
-
Remove old cam slide filler if necessary by pulling the remaining pieces out of its channel and discarding.
-
Install the new cam slide filler on each side by flexing open the cut in the circular opening and fitting around the circular handle cam (1) with the edge of the filler inserted into the cam slide filler channel (2).
-
Reinstall lid cover being careful that the cam slide filler is completely seated on the inside of the cover as shown. Test that the handle slides forward and backwards with little resistance. Stoppage or resistance usually indicates an obstruction present in the channel or the slide is not seated properly.
-
Reinstall the lid cover.

Re-install the four lid cover screws.
