Burn Risk

To avoid severe burns:

  • The lid handle must be fully latched prior to starting a cook cycle.

  • Do not lift the handle until pressure gauge reads 0 PSI.

  • Do not operate unit without all lid components installed and lid cover in place.

  • Do not tamper with any component of the lid’s locking mechanism.

To avoid electrical shock or property damage, move the power switch to OFF and disconnect power.

Only perform this procedure when the unit is cool or severe burns may result.

To avoid personal injury from falling lid, fully engage tilt stop while cleaning and servicing lid. Lid may fall with force if tilt stop is not engaged.

Ensure the lid is undamaged and working within specification by doing the following:

  1. Lift and secure the lid. Refer to Lid Operation for instructions.

  2. Cover the vat with a sheet pan.

  3. Remove the lid gasket and inspect.

  4. Replace the gasket if it has not been replaced in the last 12 months, or if hardened, brittle, damaged, or blackened.

  5. If the gasket passes inspection, clean the gasket with hot water and mild detergent and reinstall.

    NOTICE -

To avoid equipment damage and ensure lid seal, do not strike tools on vat band or vat rim.

  6. Clean the entire pot band removing any build up or debris.

    NOTICE -

Do not use power tools when tightening screws.

Do not overtighten or screws may break. If any retainer screws are missing, replace. If any retainer screws are broken, do not use until lid is replaced.

  7. Inspect and tighten all 16 lid gasket retainer screws around the perimeter of lid gasket to 18 in. lbs. (2.03 Nm).

  8. Pull back the lid gasket and inspect all 12 lid liner screws. If any lid liner screws (#6-32x5/16) are missing or broken, submit photographs of broken or missing screws to Technical Support. Include a description of which screws are missing or broken using the diagram, and also include the serial number to receive further instructions.
