Replacing and Installing Casters

Casters on the fryer cannot be adjusted. Replace any damaged or broken casters.

Replacing Casters

  1. Discard oil from the fryer.

  2. Use two floor jacks by positioning them near casters, under the frame at point A. Both jacks must be positioned near casters on the same side of the fryer. For example lift both the front casters off of the ground if replacing a front caster.

  3. Block the casters on the opposite side of the fryer with small wheel chocks.

  4. Raise fryer approximately 2.5" (63mm).

  5. Use an adjustable wrench at point B to remove the existing caster.

  6. Install the new caster in reverse order.

Removing Legs and Installing Casters

The legs of fryers build after November 2000 are long. The legs can be cut and casters can be installed.

  1. Cut 3.625 inches of the bottom of each leg.

  2. Slide one insert into each leg.

  3. Using a large punch and hammer, dimple each leg with the insert installed as shown below.

  4. Screw a caster into each insert. Ensure you put the two locking casters on the front legs.
