PFG 600 Programming a C8000 Control

CFA Gas Fryers or CFA Electric Fryers Without Hybrid Boards Information:

• Gas fryers DO exist for Chick-fil-A

• They are typically in high rise buildings, college campuses, and franchisee locations. They CANNOT use the Hybrid control board like electric fryers use.

• The part number for the control board for CFA gas fryers is 171285. This is known as an HC11 control board.

  • This control board part number is also used on 500s in locations without WiFi because switching to Hybrid doesn’t make sense in that scenario. This is typically in franchisee locations.

  • This control board type CANNOT be updated via WiFi or connected to their WiFi in any way (as of now).

  • In order to update the control board, it would need a programming device known as a Kanda.

    • This Kanda can only be used if the software version while powering the unit up shows 63077L/1.54. If the control shows 63077M/1.55, the unit needs a System Initialization (SP-3), then soft power cycle, and then continue normal operation. The software versions are the same for both 600 and 500 fryers .

    • The Kanda programmer part number is 178198. This should only be sent to distributors This part will require an Exception Order be placed. After using the Kanda, the distributor will need to reference our UPS account to return the programmer to Henny Penny with appropriate ATTN.

    • The instructions say 500 at the top but the exact same applies to 600 units. This was apparently an oversight when the instructions were created since there are so few in the field. This Kanda is also used to update 500 fryers with this control board.
