Quick Filter

To avoid electrical shock or property damage, move the power switch to OFF and disconnect power.

To avoid personal injury: Use PPE Do not exceed the oil capacity of the shuttle (1 vat).

The shuttle holds 1 full vat, or 2 split vats of oil.

Check Filter Pan

During normal operation and after 36 cook cycles, the Filter Light illuminates on the front of the fryer and will display "FILTER LOCKOUT", "YOU *MUST* FILTER NOW". The control will refuse any further cook cycles until the vat is filtered.

1. If the filter pan or cover is not in place, the display will show "CHK PAN". Ensure that the filter pipe is tightly connected and that the filter filter pan is as far back under the fryer as it will go. Check that the filter pan cover is in place.

   

2. Press "1" button and display will show "*SKIM VAT*" followed by "CONFIRM".

   1. Press "1" to skim vat and display will show "OPEN DRAIN".

   2. Pull drain knob and oil will drain from the vat.

3. If filtering is not desired, turn off power switch and the display will show "STOPPED" followed by "CONTINUE FILTER?". Press "3" button and "QUIT FILTER" will appear, press "1" button. SmartFilter will cancel, the blue light will go out and controls will return to normal operation. Controls will suggest filtering after several more cook cycles.

4. If drain is clogged the display will show "VAT EMTY". Use a straight white brush to clear drain.

5. Press "1" button to proceed with the filtering process.

6. At the end of drain cycle check if vat is empty and press "1" button. "WASHING" will be displayed and once filter is complete "CLOSE DRAIN" will show.

7. Push in on drain knob to close drain. Vat will re-fill with oil.

8. Once vat is filled press "1" button to return controls to normal operation.

9. If oil has not pumped back to the proper level in the vat during the Quick Filter process press the "3" button. After pressing the "3" button the pump will run for another 30 seconds.

10. Ensure vat is full and press "1" button and the controls will return to normal operation. Filling the vat can be attempted 3 times.

Filter Error

1. After trying to fill the vat 3 times without success, the display will show "*CHANGE* *FILTER* *PAD* CLOGGED?".

2. Press "1" button and controls will turn off.

3. Change filter envelope.

4. If filter envelope has not been changed the "CHANGE FILTER PAD?" reminder will appear every 4 minutes.

5. After the next Quick Filter with a new filter envelope, if the vat is not filled after 3 tries the display will show "FILTER SERVICE REQUIRED-SEE TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE".

6. Press "1" button and controls will turn unit off.

To help ensure vat fills completely, clean the filter pan at least once a day. Change the filter envelope at least once a day. Ensure the oil reservoir is full and that "O" rings on the filter pan are in good condition. If your store operates 24 hours a day, clean the filter pan and change the filter envelope twice a day.
