PQE 500 Replacing Drain Valve Extension

Only perform this procedure when the unit is cool or severe burns may result.

Follow these instructions to replace the drain valve extension.

1. Turn power switch off.

2. Ensure fryer is cool to the touch before moving.

3. Pull out the fryer and unplug from power source.

4. Carefully remove the filter pan.

5. Remove right side panel.



6. While holding the drain valve with pipe wrench, twist (turn) the drain valve extension slowly counterclockwise while pulling down until the alignment of the extension allows it to come out of the locking ring of the drain valve.





7. Install the new one by aligning the notches on the extension with the locking ring on the drain valve. Then, push up and twist clockwise to lock into place.

8. Verify extension notches are seated fully into the drain valve locking ring. (Notches should not be showing.) Pull down slightly to make sure extension does not pull out and is not crooked.

9. Push filter pan back in and verify alignment of extension with filter pan lid opening.
