Follow these instructions to replace the heating element on the PQE 500 Pressure Fryer.

Remove hot oil from the fryer.

Turn power switch off.

Ensure fryer is cool to the touch before moving.

Pull out the fryer and unplug from the power source.

Using a crosstip screwdriver or bit, remove both control screws and carefully lower control down from the top while hinging it on the bottom.

Remove left and right side panels of the fryer.
-
Access the Heat and Safety contacts behind the control and remove element wires from contacts using a crosstip screwdriver.

Remove all brackets from elements using a crosstip screwdriver.

Using a 7/8 inch wrench, access the element nuts through the sides and behind the shroud and remove.

Carefully remove faulty element(s) from fryer.
-
Working in reverse, complete steps 10 through 1 and return the fryer to service.
NOTE: It is recommended to take a picture of the wiring prior to removing the wires.
IMPORTANT! When installing the element brass nuts, tighten to 36ft-lbs. Tighten the element bracket screws to 22in-lbs.
