Replacing the High Temperature Limit Control

To avoid electrical shock or property damage, move the power switch to OFF and disconnect power.

  1. Remove electrical power supplied to the unit.

  2. Lower the control board.

  3. Using a 5/16 inch wrench, remove the two nuts connecting the heat shield covering the high limit control.

  4. Mark and disconnect the wires located on the high limit control.

  5. Using a 3/8 inch wrench, remove the nuts.

  6. Remove the clamp bars.

  7. Using a 5/16 inch wrench, remove the two nuts on the high limit bracket and then slide the high limit control off of mounting studs.

  8. Install the new control in reverse order.
