Updating the Software

USB drive
Perform as needed such as after new software release or bug fix. Henny Pennyrecommends always having the software up to date to avoid software errors. See Software for a link to the latest version of OFE 51X.

Check your current software version. Go to the
:NOTE: This procedure applies to both General Market F5 and McDonald's LOV3.

Select Information.

Select About This Fryer.

Select More Information.

Take note of the current version.

Download the latest software file from here.

Ensure USB drive is empty. Delete old files if they exist.

Copy the zip file from your computer to the the root directory on your USB drive.

Right-click on the zip file on your USB drive and select EXTRACT ALL.

Start from the far left controller, insert USB into USB port under the control. NOTE: It is important to always update the far-left controller first.

Go to the menu, select Advanced, Software Update, and then start the install.

Start the software install. Select “Yes/Proceed” to continue the installation

Once the update is complete, an option to safely remove USB displays, select option and remove.

Continue steps 7-10 above on the rest of the vats.

Once update is completed, repeat Step 1 to verify the new software version.
NOTE: You may need to reset the display for the updated version to appear.
IMPORTANT: Use only a reputable USB drive from a manufacturer like SanDisk, Kingston, Samsung etc. The drive must be no larger than 16GB and must be USB 2.0. These can be purchased through Henny Penny (part number 03719), or purchased through a reputable source locally. USB drives that do not meet these requirements may result in the message "Unable to detect USB".
