Troubleshooting the SMS Control Online Projection System (OPS) Connection

Overview

Why are the OPS system and SMS 20 control not communicating?

Procedure

For the KFC in-store OPS system and SMS 20 control to properly communicate the Zigbee radio system must be enabled. Instructions for enabling the Zigbee radio system are below:

1. Press and hold the FUNCTION button for two (2) seconds.

2. Release the FUNCTION button when REGULAR PROGRAMMING shows in the display.

3. Repeatedly press and release FUNCTION button to scroll to FACTORY PRESETS.

4. Enter access code 2957.

5. Repeatedly press and release FUNCTION button to scroll to ZIGBEE ENABLE.

6. Press and release product button 1 to toggle ZIGBEE ENABLE ON or OFF.

7. Press and hold FUNCTION button to exit programming.

To check for Zigbee radio connection:

1. With fryer power switch OFF, press and hold product buttons 8 and 9 simultaneously.

   The ZIGBEE INFO screen displays if the radio is connected to the network or not.

2. If the Zigbee radio is disconnected from the network, it can be connected by pressing product button 10. From the ZIGBEE INFO screen, radio channel and ID display.
