Follow these instructions on replacing the heating element for open fryer CFE 5XX.

Remove the hot oil from the fryer.
Turn the power switch off.
Ensure fryer is cool to the touch before moving.
Pull out the fryer, and then unplug from the power source.
Using a crosstip screwdriver or bit, remove the back shroud of the fryer. NOTE: On removal, lift from bottom of the shroud.
Locate the faulty element wires on the contactors and remove using a crosstip screwdriver.
Access the high limit probes inside the vat and loosen bracket securing probe using a Torx (T15) Driver.
Access the rear side of the vat and remove the top brass nuts for the top element using a 7/8 inch wrench. NOTE: The insulation may need to be cut.
Carefully remove the top element inside the vat without damaging the high limit probe.
Remove bracketry from the old element and transfer to the new element.
Install o-ring seals provided in kit onto ends of new element.
Carefully install new element into vat, being careful not to damage the high limit probes.
Re-install high limit probes into bracket and measure 1/2 inch from tip of probe to bracket and tighten.
Re-install brass nut for element and tighten to 36ft-lbs.
Working in reverse, complete steps 6 through 1 and return fryer to service.
NOTE: Repeat steps 6 through 11 for the bottom element.
NOTE: Repeat steps 12 through 14 for the second element, if required.
