Troubleshooting a PXE 100 E-93 Error Code

multimeter
screwdriver
Overview
The E-84 error code can display due to the 24VDC supply being tripped. The supply is within the AIF board and cannot be reset manually. The AIF board supplies 24VDC through the communication cables to each vat for the:
-
drain actuator
-
pump motor relay
-
selector valve motor, if the fryer equipped with one.
Typically none of the components listed previously will be operating when this error code occurs. This error code typically displays on vat 1 but the problem can be valid for multiple vats.
Troubleshooting Procedure:
-
Energize the filter pump motor in the filter menu by going to "fill pot from pan" (option #5) and see if we are getting the 12VDC going to the pump motor relay.
-
Go to "drain to pan" in the filter menu (option #4) and energize the drain actuator.
-
Check the communication cable connector between the control board and AIF board which will vary by color on each control panel. Colors are red, blue, white, and brown. We should have 24VDC across pins 1 and 4. Pin 1 is the common lead and pin 4 being the positive lead.
-
If we have no DC voltage present on the communication cable, replace the AIF board.
