To avoid electrical shock or property damage, disconnect power before installing or servicing equipment. A qualified technician must perform the service procedures. |
-
Drain all oil from vat into installed filter pan or dispose into a waste container. Recommend to use Menu to Filter to Drain.
-
Close filter valve and exit menu. While filter valve is still closed, remove power from unit. New valves and assemblies are shipped in closed position.
-
Remove filter pan from fryer.
-
Remove left side panel for ease of access to filter valve and connector.
-
Unplug filter valve harness connector.
-
Remove filter valve extension from valve by gripping with hands or channel lock pliers and turn the tube a 45 degree or 1/8 turn clockwise when viewed from above fryer.
-
Pull extension down and out of valve.
-
Use long 3/32 in. hex key to loosen set screws on valve actuator until nearly all the way out.
-
Use a flathead screwdriver and do a back and forth action to pry and remove actuator from valve. Note the valve stem is pointed straight towards the back of the fryer and the actuator label is pointing to left side of fryer.
-
Use 2-1/2 in. socket and ratchet with extensions as necessary to remove filter valve by turning clockwise when viewed from above fryer.
-
Install new o-ring in to groove at the bottom, inside of new valve. Lubricate with cooking oil.
-
Apply food grape pipe thread sealant to vat filter nipple and/or threaded top of vavle.
-
Install valve by turning counter-clockwise when viewing from above fryer until fully tightened. The stem should be pointing straight towards rear of fryer.
-
Ensure valve is in closed position.
-
Install filter valve extension back into filter by aligning two protrusions on extension and pushing into valve slots, then turning 1/8 turn counter-clockwise. Bottom of extension should be square with frame.
-
With the cylindrical part of the actuator towards the right side of fryer and red label pointing to left side, align the square of the actuator and the valve.
-
Push actuator towards valve and then align the base of the actuator to slot in the valve by turning valve by rotating actuator, push actuator further towards filter valve until fully seated.
-
Tighten set screws to fix actuator to filter valve.
-
Plug actuator harness connector back into fryer.
-
Replace side panel and filter pan.
-
Connect fryer and connect power.
-
Ensure filter valve is properly opening and closing when commanded, if the control panel shows it is open but it is closed (vice versa), actuator will need to be separated from valve again and valve position rotated 1/4 turn (90 degree) in either direction to get properly aligned.
