Troubleshooting an E-6 Error Code

The E-06 error code is an indication that the control is not reading the temperature probe. The most common cause of this is due to an open temperature probe.

Shock Hazard To avoid electrical shock or property damage, disconnect power before installing or servicing equipment. Lowering the control board exposes the technician to 240 VAC electricity inside the fryer.

1. Test the temperature probe by:

   • Disconnect the two probe wires from the main control board.

   • Performing a continuity check between the two probe wires.

2. If the temperature probe tests out fine, the main control board is not reading the temperature circuit.

3. Test the DC voltage being supplied to the main control board from the power supply board. Pins 1-3 should have 5 VDC and pins 2-4 should have 12 VDC.

   • If voltage is low, replace the power supply board.

   • If voltage is correct, replace the 4 pin harness. If the issue continues, then replace the main control board.
