Magnet Assembly
![]() |
To avoid electrical shock or property damage, disconnect power before installing or servicing equipment. A qualified technician must perform the service procedures. |
Overview
The drain pan switch is a magnetic proximity switch monitored by a 12 VDC circuit from the OMS board. With the drain pan fully inserted the no proximity switch is now closed and allows the 12 VDC to go back to the OMS board on pins D1 and D2 of the P8 connector.
Call Avoidance
Perform these steps first to avoid having to go to the restaurant and adding value for your customer. These are steps we recommend every service company provide prior to going out and what makes Henny Penny the partner top food service chains can’t live without as these will save our customers money if successful. These steps can be provided over the phone, over WhatsApp, face time etc… with the restaurant manager. Try the following steps first:
-
Make sure there is nothing preventing the drain pan from being fully inserted.
- Make sure that the magnet is still in place at the rear of the drain pan and has not come off.
Field Troubleshooting
-
Remove front service panel and drop down PMU board brackets to gain access to OMS board.
-
This can also be done at the rear of the fryer at the lever nuts for the drain pan switch. Refer to image below.
-
With the drain pan in place, you should have continuity (closed circuit).
-
If there's continuity and the control does not recognize it, then replace OMS board.
-
If there isn't continuity, check connections at rear of fryer where the switch connects before replacing the drain pan switch.
