Troubleshooting a PXE 100 E-84 Error Code

Overview
The E-84 error code can display due to a pressure pin malfunction or the lid latch cable being damaged.
Troubleshooting for Pressure Pin Malfunctions:
E-84 C Pressure Pin Not Activated

Check to see if pin is activating the switch.

Check for condensing steam on the switch which is leading to a switch.

Test the switch for continuity when it is not pressed.
E-84 D Pressure Pin Stuck or Disconnected
If the lid will not open, the pin is stuck and has not dropped.

Remove the lid cover and manually free the pin.
If the lid will open, the wire may be disconnected or the monitoring switch may have failed.

Check the wire connections and reconnect the loose wires.

Replace the faulty wires.

Test the switch for continuity.

Replace the switch, if necessary.
Troubleshooting for a Damaged Lid Latch Cable
If the lid latch cable is pulled tight with the lid in the down position as seen above, the wire can be damaged inside the grey insulation.
