Troubleshooting the Filter Count Not Reducing with Each Drop
Overview
If the loads they're cooking are physically very small (1 or 2 patties in a basket, for example), then the count is supposed to drop by a very small number (< 1.0) at the end of the cycle. (The count is maintained to 2 decimal places inside the control.)
During the cycle, the count will drop by exactly 1.0 until the calculation is performed at the very end of the cycle. (This shows a worst-case cook cycle and also prevents operators from "cheating" the system by cancelling a load early to get extra cook cycles before filtering.)
After the end of the cycle, the display always rounds up to show a whole number because any internal value between 0.01 and 0.99 will allow them to cook 1 more load before requiring a filter.
Troubleshooting on the Control
-
Press the INFO button ('i') three times until you see "FILTER: #.## REM" to view the filter count remaining (out to 2 decimal places) . This display is available when you're cooking, idling, off, or filtering.
-
Simultaneously press the left and right arrow keys (INFO and PROG keys) to enter INFO MODE.
-
Scroll to 4. COOK DATA using the right arrow key (PROG key).
-
Scroll down to 4P. using the down arrow key.
LOAD SIZE #.##. displays. This is how much the last cook cycle removed from the filter count.
After each cook cycle, the number in B) should be between 0.01 and 1.00. Likewise, you should be able to watch the value in A) drop by that much each time.
If that's not happening, re-initialize the control to ensure all the product settings are set to count against the total.
An Example Scenario
Description | Idling | User Presses cook timer button | Product cooking | Just before end of cycle: control calculates LCE load size (0.13 for example) | End of cycle | Idling before next cycle |
