PFE 500/PFG 600 Hybrid Control Installation Instructions

Instructions on how to replace a hybrid control on a PFE 500 and PFG 600.

Installing the Hybrid Control

To avoid electrical shock or property damage, move the power switch to OFF and disconnect power.

1. Remove screws securing the existing control, and then lower the control.
2. Note the connection locations on the back of the control.
3. Disconnect the connectors.
4. Remove the existing control and dispose as applicable.
5. Install the new control and the reconnect the connectors.
6. Install screws securing the hybrid control.

Configuring the Serial Number

The serial number must be added correctly in the control or the Wi-Fi module cannot receive or transmit data, including automated software updates.

Verifying the Serial Number

1. Set the power switch to the OFF position.

2. Locate the machine data plate on the inside of the filter pan door and record the serial number displayed.

3. Press and hold Prog until "L-2 LEVEL 2" displays. This should take 7-8 seconds.

4. After you release prog, "CFA PROG" / "ENTER CODE" will display.

5. Press prog twice "SETUP" / "ENTER CODE" displays.

6. Use the left product buttons enter 1, 2, 3 and "-SETUP MODE-" will display.

7. Compare the serial number displayed in SM-1 with the number you recorded.

8. Perform one of the two actions.

   1. If the serial number matches press and hold prog until "-OFF-" displays. This exits the menu and normal operation may resume.

   2. If the serial number is missing or does not match, follow either 9 or 7 character serial number correction procredure.

Correcting a 9 Character Serial Number

You only need to enter the first four and last three digits, the first two letters are already populated.

1. Press the clock button on the left side.

2. Press 1 on the right side for standard.

3. Press the product keys to enter the first four digits of the serial number you recorded. The value of each product key is represented by the blue number below the product key.

4. Press prog to continue.

5. Press the product keys to enter the last three digits of the serial number you recorded.

6. Press prog "SAVE ? YES NO" will display.

7. Do one of the following:

   1. If the serial number is correct press 1 on the rights side for yes.

   2. If the serial number is incorrect press 4 on the right side for no and repeat the process.

8. Press and hold prog until "-OFF-" displays. This will exit the menu and resume normal operation.

Correcting a 7 Character Serial Number

1. Press the clock on the left side.

2. Press the 4 on the right side for custom and then the current serial number will display.

3. Press either the Up or Down arrow once the 1 button, info and prog LEDs will flash rapidly.

4. Press either Up or Down arrow to find the letters and digits corresponding to the serial numbers you recorded.

5. Once you have the correct letter or digit displayed, press prog. To go back to a previous letter press prog.

   • If LEDs stop flashing, repeat process.

6. After entering the 7th character of the serial number press Down and Up to find the underscore which acts as a space character. Enter the space character in the last two places.

7. Press prog until "SM-1" and the serial number you entered display.

8. Press and hold prog until "-OFF-" displays. This will exit the menu and normal operation may resume.
