Estimated Time

2 Hours

To avoid electrical shock or property damage, move the power switch to OFF and disconnect power.

  1. Turn off power to the fryer then remove power cord from electrical supply.

  2. Disconnect the union between the oil return tube and pick-up tube inside the oil filter pan, located at the front of the fryer unit.

  3. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen nut on the return tube located at the inlet side of pump.

  4. Remove return tube assembly and set it aside.

  5. Loosen nut on the supply tube (outlet side of pump) then loosen nut at the other end of supply tube (connected to spigot fitting).

  6. Remove supply tube assembly and set it aside.

  7. Use a Crosstip screwdriver remove access plate from motor.

  8. Loosen jam nut and remove conduit connector from pump/motor assembly.

  9. Disconnect electrical wires from motor, unfasten mounting bolts and nuts and remove pump/motor assembly from mounting bracket in fryer unit.

  10. Discard all used bolts, nuts and washers.

  11. If the replacement pump is in the 12 o'clock position, proceed to step 16. If replacement pump is not proceed to next step.

  12. Loosen three internal hex set screws located between motor and pump body.

  13. Rotate the pump to the 12 o'clock position. Ensure the inlet port is pointed downward.

  14. Tighten three internal hex set screws securing the pump in the correct position. Only hand tighten the jam nut, this will be tightened later.

  15. Attatch the 90° SAE fitting to the inlet side of pump.

  16. Use an adjustable wrench to fasten the straight SAE fitting to the outlet side of pump.

  17. Place and position the adapter plate onto the mounting bracket.

  18. Use four washers and four nuts to fasten the adapter plate to the mounting bracket. Only finger tighten the nuts.

  19. Remove access plate form replacement pump/motor.

  20. The replacement pump can be wired the same as previous pump.

  21. If the previous pump was wired for 115V / 60Hz AC power, then the replacement pump/motor assembly must be wired for 115V / 60Hz AC power.

  22. Place the replacement pump/motor assembly onto the adapter plate.

  23. Install conduit connector onto pump/motor.

  24. Install conduit connector and wires, then fasten access plate to motor.

  25. Finger-tighten pump/motor assembly to adapter plate using four washers and four nut fasteners.

  26. Retrieve the oil supply tube assembly and install it between the outlet port of the pump and the spigot fitting.

  27. Finger-tighten each nut on the tube assembly.

  28. Retrieve the oil return tube assembly to the inlet port of the pump and hand-tighten the nut.

  29. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten the jam nut on the 90° SAE fitting.

  30. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten the three nuts on both tube assemblies that were installed.

  31. Tighten the pump/motor assembly to the adapter plate using a 7/16 in wrench.

  32. Use a 7/16 in socket to tighten the adapter plate to the mounting bracket on the fryer.

  33. Hand-tighten the union between the return tube assembly and the pick-up tube in the filter pan.

  34. Ensure all connections are tightened properly.

  35. Connect power cord to supply and turn power.

  36. Ensure the vat is filled with oil and preform a filter.

  37. Note: If oil does not pump it may be necessary to prime the pump.

  38. While pump is running, check all connections for oil leaks.

  39. If no leaks are observed, turn off pump. If no leaks are observed than installation is complete. If leaks are observed, turn off pump.

  40. Turn off power to fryer and disconnect power cord.

  41. Tighten all connections where leaks were observed.

  42. Connect power cord to electrical supply and turn on power.

  43. Start filter pump and check for leaks. If no leaks are observed than installation is complete. If leak persists, turn off pump and contact technical support.
