Replacing the Gas valve Kit

    To avoid personal injury or property damage, before starting this procedure, move the main power switch to the off position. Disconnect the main circuit breakers at the circuit breaker box or unplug service cord from wall receptacle. Turn off the main gas supply to the fryer and disconnect and cap the main supply line to fryer, or possible explosion could result.

  1. Remove control panel assembly.

  2. Label and remove wires from gas control valve.

  3. Use a 7/16 in wrench to remove the 2 nuts securing the gas line support, located on the right-side of the fire box.

  4. Use a 7/16 in wrench to remove the pilot line from the gas control valve.

  5. Use a 1 in wrench to loosen the nut securing the main gas inlet to the gas control valve.

  6. Use 5/8 in and 11/16 in wrench to remove the two burner gas line fittings, located in the front of the control panel area.

  7. Use a 3/8 in socket or nut-driver to remove the nuts securing the high limit bracket.

  8. Remove the cotter pin securing the drain rod handle and pull the handle form the unit and discard. Repeat steps for filter rod handle

  9. Use a 5/16 in socket or nut-driver to remove 2 screws and nuts, drain switch cover and drain switch from the drain switch bracket.

  10. Discard drain switch cover and use the one provided in the kit.

  11. Use a 7/8 in wrench to remove the quick-disconnect.

  12. Use a crosstip screwdriver to remove the three screws securing the gas control valve bracket to the frame of the fryer.

  13. Pull complete gas valve assembly from fryer. Ensure to not damage burner tubes.

  14. Remove the 2 crosstip screws securing the gas valve bracket to the original gas valve. Remove and discard bracket.

  15. Use a 7/16 in wrench to remove the gas line bracket from the fittings.

  16. Remove the 2 elbows from the gas valve and remove the elbow and fittings attached to the nipple on the side of the gas valve.

  17. NOTE: Pipe wrench, adjustable wrench and a vise may be used in removing these items.

  18. Set the gas valve assembly into place in the fryer. Attach the gas line bracket to the right side of the firebox, do not tighten the nuts.

  19. Secure the gas valve assembly to the fryer. Tighten nuts on the gas line bracket

  20. Install the new drain handle given in the kit. Ensure to install drain valve handle, fittings and all other components in reverse order.

  21. To avoid personal injury or explosion, check piping and fittings for gas leaks. Leaking gas may cause an explosion.

    Check for leaks per Gas Supply. If a leak is detected, shut off gas control valves and repair leak.
