30 Minutes to 1 hour

  1. Note before starting, This system is designed to operate using only a 1/2 hp pump motor. If the motor data plate reads 1/3 hp then replace with a 1/2 hp pump motor.

  2. Disconnect power to fryer and allow fryer to cool.

  3. Remove the filter rinse pipe from the fryer.

  4. Remove the 3/8 in. 90° elbow and close nipple from the fryer.

  5. Remove the screw from the front bracket.

  6. Install the new bracket.

  7. Reinstall screw into existing hole, drill 1/8 in. pilot hole in the other hole of the bracket.

  8. Install a self-drilling screw with the extra screws provided from the kit.

  9. Install the new hose assembly to the 11 1/2 in. nipple.

  10. Install the spring onto the rod.

  11. Install the handle in the hole previously occupied by the filter rinse pipe. Ensure the orientation of the handle is that it is aligned vertically when the valve is closed.

  12. Place red sleeve onto handle portion of rod.

  13. Install a cotter pin to secure the handle to the valve.

  14. Test the red handle of the direct connect and verify that the spring allows the valve to open completely by hand an close completely using the tension of the spring. If necessary adjust the tension of the spring by placing the end of the spring into a different slot on the bracket.

  15. Install the male quick-disconnect to the manifold attached to the wall behind the fryers.

  16. Connect the hose to the discard line.

  17. Install the bracket only if no existing bracket is on the fryer to secure the filter drain rod.
