To avoid electrical shock or property damage, move the power switch to OFF and disconnect power.

Installation of the kit should be preformed only by a qualified service technician.

  1. Disconnect power from fryer.
  2. Remove the 2 screws from the control panel and lift panel up and out.

  3. Unplug the 9-pin connector and the probe connection at the control board.

  4. Remove control from unit.

  5. Remove the 2 screws from the right side panel and pull side panel from unit.

  6. Remove the retaining clip from the top of the solenoid coil housing and remove the cover.

Pull the coil housing from solenoid and remove the coil from the housing. Replace coil with the low voltage coil supplied in the kit (ensure to replace the spacers from the old coil onto the new coil).

  7. When retrofitting an OFG-391, ignore steps and references to the pressure solenoid and wires.

  8. Remove the Crosstip head screws securing the inner heat shield and remove heat shield from unit.

  9. Top 8. Remove the 2 top and 3 bottom Phillip’s head screws

  10. securing of the outer front shroud. Figures 1-6 &

  11. Pull wires from POWER switch.

  12. Pull down on outer front shroud and remove from unit.

  13. Disconnect transformer connector.

  14. Remove the 2 Crosstip head screws securing transformer and remove transformer from unit.

  15. Use a 5/16” socket or nutdriver to remove the nuts securing the gas control valve cover and remove cover.

  16. Locate the wires from gas control valve, behind the control panel and cut these wires.

  17. On CE units,

    1. locate the gas control valve wires and the saftey solenoid wires and remove wire nuts.

  18. Use a 5/16” socket or nutdriver to remove the nuts securing the 3 relays and remove relays from unit.

  19. Use a 5/16” socket or nutdriver to remove nuts securing the wire cover and remove wire cover.

  20. Remove the Crosstip head screws securing the high limit and pull high limit from bracket.

  21. Remove wires from high limit.

  22. Remove cover of junction box on right side of unit. Leaving 1 wire, pull the power wires, blower motor wires and solenoid wires through the conduit, to the front of the fryer and discard wires.

  23. Remove all remaining wires from behind control panel wires, except the flame sensor wires to the modules (#71, #72), ground wires (#13, #23, #42, #43, #46, #79, #80), pressure solenoid wires(#73, #74), blower wires (#75, #76), pump wires (#68, #69), and the wires coming directly from the drain switch and air valve.

  24. Using electrical tape, attach power wires (L1F & L2F, from a 3-pin connector), blower motor wires (BM-1 & BM-2, from a 4-pin connector,) , and solenoid wires (P2-1 & P2-2, from the12-pin connector) to the single wire left in the conduit, in the front of the fryer. Then pulling on the single wire from the junction box, pull the 6 wires through the conduit and into the junction box.

  25. CE UNITS,

    1. Wires L2F & L1F will have 90 degree terminals on them to attach to the filter board in the Figure 1-13 junction box. These 2 wires will have to be threaded through the conduit, starting at the junction box.

  26. Attach wires L1F & L2F to the terminal block in the junction box.

  27. Connect blower motor wires, BM-1 & BM-2 to the blower motor wires in the junction box, using wire nuts.

  28. Attach the other 2 wires (AS-1 & AS-2) in this 4-pin connector, to the air switch wires from the conduit on the left side of the control area, using wire nuts.

  29. Connect solenoid wires P2-1 & P2-2 to the solenoid wires in the junction box, using wire nuts.

  30. Locate the wire harness with the 12 pin red connector.

    1. Pressure solenoid wires (P2-1 & P2-2) should be wired in junction box.

    2. Connect the 4 yellow wires in positions 9, 10, 11 & 12 of the 12-pin connector to the left module.

    3. Connect the wires in positions 3, 4 & 5 of the 12-pin connector to the gas control valve.

    4. CE UNITS ONLY. Connect the gas safety solenoid to wires in positions 6 & 7 (S1 & S2) of the 12-pin connector. Remove these wires for non-CE units.

  31. The wires in the wire harnesses are marked to guide you in positioning the wires correctly

  32. Install transformer, provided in the kit, using self-drilling screws, to the frame where the other transformer was mounted. Ensure wire harness faces the rear of the fryer.

  33. Locate the wire harness with the 6-pin red connector.

    1. Connect the yellow wires to high limit.

    2. Connect the white wires to the drain switch wires using wire nuts.

    3. Connect the blue wires to the pressure switch wires using wire nuts.

  34. Locate the harness with the 2-pin white connector with wires marked M1 & M2. Attach these wires to the filter motor wires, at the conduit on the left side of the control area, using wire nuts.

  35. Locate the wire harness with a white 4-pin connector with wires MV-R, PV-R, TH-R, & TR-R. Attach these wires to the right module.

  36. Connect the 4-pin to 2-pin adaptor to the probe connector.

  37. Position the outer front shroud

  38. Locate the 5-pin connector and attach the wires to the power switch as shown in the wiring diagrams provided in the kit.

  39. Wire tie the wires to keep them from interfering with the components, except for the probe wire.

  40. Slide the top of the outer front shroud underneath the lip on the countertop, and press into place. Secure with

  41. screws previously removed.

  42. Plug in all connectors, including the probe and new transformer harness into the back of the control.

  43. Slide the top of the control panel underneath the lip on the countertop and then press into place.

  44. Using the screws, provided in the kit, secure the controls to the unit, and the unit is now ready for use.
