Replacing Gas Valve Assembly With Gas Valve and Solenoid Assembly

To avoid electrical shock or property damage, move the power switch to OFF and disconnect power.

Removal

  1. Disconnect power and turn main gas off.

  2. Cut off wire splice connecting the white wires from the gas valve to control board.

  3. Cut off wire splices connecting the black wires from the gas valve to control board. (2 total).

  4. Disconnect pilot tube from gas valve.

  5. Disconnect main gas tube from gas valve.

  6. Disconnect and remove aluminum burner supply tubes

  7. Remove 2 mounting screws from gas valve mounting.

  8. Remove gas valve assembly.

  9. Remove “T” pipe from right side of gas valve assembly.

  10. Remove all 4 burners, and discard.

Replacement

  1. Install 4 new burners.

  2. Install 4 new burners.

  3. Add gas valve assembly. to new plumbing / solenoid assembly.

  4. Connect “T” pipe onto short nipple on solenoid assembly.

  5. Route all wires from solenoid through grommet EXCEPT the wires from the new solenoid assembly.

  6. Insert gas valve / solenoid assembly. into fryer and align two mounting holes.

  7. Secure gas valve / solenoid assembly to mounting bracket by using 2 screws.

  8. Re-connect main gas line to gas valve.

  9. Re-connect pilot tube to gas valve.

  10. Connect wires for gas valve / solenoid assembly as per wire diagram provided.

  11. Bend new supply tubes from ‘T’ to each burner using 2 tubes provided.
